Aberdeenshire Council and the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute have started a new project that will work with farmers to manage water quantity under current and future climate change. The focus of the project is the Tarland Basin and it will complement the ongoing Tarland Flood Prevention Scheme. Visit the Aquarius website for more information.




The Macaulay Land Use Research Institute and SCRI joined forces on 1 April 2011 to create The James Hutton Institute. It is the first Institute of its type in Europe and will make major, new contributions to the understanding of key global issues such as food, energy and environmental security.
