Pudsey Bear visits Research Institute

Pudsey Bear outside The Macaulay Land Use Research Institute headquartersPudsey Bear visited the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute today (Thursday 12th November) to launch the Institute’s fundraising event.

The mascot of the BBC’s Children in Need joined staff for a coffee morning, bake sale and raffle which raised over £800 for the charity.

Lorraine Robertson, Head Librarian who organised the bake sale says, “We were delighted to host an event for staff to raise money for this worthwhile charity. There was a great turnout and staff were really excited to meet Pudsey Bear”.

Jenna Grey, Communications and PR Assistant at the Macaulay who helped co-ordinate the event says, “We are thrilled to be working with BBC Children in Need and delighted that Pudsey chose to visit the Institute to help our fundraising efforts”.

The charity’s mission is to make a positive change to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK and to create a society where each and every child and young person is supported to realise their full potential.

In 2008, more than £36million was raised for the BBC’s Children in Need, and it is hoped that this year’s 30th appeal on 20 November 2009 will exceed last year’s total.
