Scientists see if climate impacts on soil carbon emissions

Almost half a million pounds has been awarded to scientists to allow them to see if climate change could impact on the levels of carbon dioxide released from Europe’s soils.

Glensaugh News – 14 September 2009

At Glensaugh we are continuing to sell finished lambs, but not in the numbers we would have liked. Grass growth has been impaired by poor weather and this has had a knock-on effect on livestock growth rates.

The end of the festival. Birmingham will follow Guildford, and its pavements made of Aberdeen granite, on hosting the festival next year.

Easterfield Primary takes first class photograph

Pupils at Easterfield Primary School near Turriff were on hand to watch Primary Two pupil Beth Cooper (aged 6) accept a digital camera for the prize winning entry in Aberdeen’s Macaulay Land Use Research Institute’s Moments in Time competition. Beth was presented with the camera by Chief Executive of the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute, Professor Richard Aspinall, during a visit to the school on 2nd September. One day left. It seems that I only arrived yesterday but yet it is tomorrow that I will leave Guildford.

Day 4

So this is my last day at the festival! The first talk I attended was one that I had been looking forward to called `Vitamin D: The sunshine superstar’. All I knew on the subject was that sunlight was needed for vitamin D synthesis, and I wondered being from Scotland, if I might be deficient!
